Franklin County says "No Kings" on Saturday, March 28th

As you may have heard, this Saturday, March 28th, communities across America are mobilizing to push back against authoritarianism. Local Indivisible groups have worked hard to bring NO KINGS to Franklin County.

Their plan is simple: Everyone is welcome to join a local morning rally, then meet at Taylor Park in St. Albans at 3:00 PM for one massive NO KINGS main event.

A number of Democratic officials and candidates are making the trip to Taylor Park: Mike Pieciak, Vermont State Treasurer; Molly Gray for Lt. Governor; and Esther Charlestin for Lt. Governor.

Here's a schedule and everything you need to know:

10AM-2PM: Morning Rallies - Attend the rally closest to you, or travel from town to town. Bring signs and positive energy. Events are rain or shine.

  • 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM | Morrisville: Intersection of Portland & Main St.
  • 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM | Fairfax: Fairfax Community Center.
  • 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM | Enosburg: Main St. by the park.
  • 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM | St. Albans City: Honk-n-wave at the corner of Main & Fairfield St.
  • 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM | Milton: Route 7 in front of Hannaford.
  • 12:45 PM - 2:00 PM | Champlain Islands: Near Sand Bar State Park.
3PM-5PM: Taylor Park Main Event - All morning rallies will culminate in a massive gathering featuring speakers, resistance music, art, and a "Democracy Fair."

What to Expect:

  • Program: The event will open with resistance music and a moment of silence, marked by the tolling of the Congregational Church bells, and conclude with calls to action.
  • Democracy Fair: Visit the voter registration table, the Indivisible tent to get involved, and vendor art displays throughout the park.
  • Donations: Volunteers will be collecting funds for the Vermont Asylum Assistance Project (VAAP). Look for volunteers or scan the QR codes posted around the park.
  • Safety: A medical tent and bathrooms are on site. Event marshals wearing vests and red numbered armbands can assist you.

Dress for the weather, push yourself out of your comfort zone, and consider grabbing a bite at a local St. Albans eatery afterward. See you there!
