In short, town delegates send Vermonters to the highest level of American politics: They go on to elect national delegates, as well as Vermont's two DNC members.
Town delegates are elected at town caucuses, which are a crucial part of the work that the Democratic Party is doing nationally to organize and get ready for the 2024 elections.

Who can be a delegate?
Anyone seeking to be elected as a town delegate must meet the following requirements:
Must have voted on the Democratic ballot in the March 5, 2024 Presidential Primary.
Must be a member of a Democratic town committee.
The first qualification is done on the honor system. Please affirm that you voted a Democratic ballot on March 5, 2024. Why the voting requirement? Since there's no Party registration in Vermont, presidential primary votes have been recorded since the 1970s in order to comply with rules set by both Parties.
The second qualification is an easy fix: Town committee members will vote nominees in as committee members.
